Meet Scott Biering

Scott Biering was first elected to Colleton County Council in 2022, stepping forward to provide new leadership and a fresh perspective on how county government can better serve its citizens.

 

A local job-creating small businessman, husband, father, and grandfather, Scott ran to make county government more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the people of Colleton County.

In 2024, Scott was elected Chairman of County Council. Under his leadership, working together with Council, the county took a hard look at its operations and uncovered significant financial challenges — including an outdated budget and financial system that needed greater transparency and accountability. Rather than accept the status quo, Scott led the effort to put Colleton County on a stronger, more responsible path forward.

Since becoming Chairman, Scott has led efforts to increase transparency, protect taxpayer dollars, streamline services, and proactively plan for Colleton County’s future growth and infrastructure needs.

Scott is committed to preserving what makes Colleton County special while preparing for the future — ensuring our community remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family for generations to come.
